Welcome to the first edition of the NAEPC Journal for 2024. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Mavis McKenley, the newly appointed editor-in-chief of the NAPEC Journal. My full-time gig is managing the Trust Department for my organization, and we have been fortunate enough to have a wonderful group of volunteers that represent the various disciplines for which we serve.

Our volunteers work hard each year gathering from around the country forward thinking original content articles for our membership. This publication is no different as it is comprised of a compilation of court cases, as well as we revisit some practical planning strategies that will never get old in our industry.

I want to thank our Publication Committee for all their hard work, and we welcome any feedback you may have on our newest edition. We also welcome your ideas for future articles or even think about submitting an article yourself. Our Mission Statement is quite clear that we strive to deliver exceptional resources which we can only do with your support.
